📋 Assessment
💪 Strengths
- The biggest draw is that Dinibo is completely free — no subscription, no hidden fees, and no premium tier that locks essential features. You can plan multiple trips without worrying about a budget for the planning tool itself, which is rare in the AI travel space. For frequent travelers or broke students, this is a decisive advantage.
- No account creation is required to use the service. You can go directly to the website, input your preferences, and receive an itinerary in seconds. This removes a major barrier for first-time users who may be wary of giving out their email or creating yet another profile. It also means your travel plans aren't tied to an account, offering a degree of privacy.
- The AI personalization is genuinely adaptive. You can specify a budget (like '$100 per day'), travel style (e.g., 'relaxed', 'fast-paced'), and interests (e.g., 'art', 'food', 'nature'). Dinibo then tailors your itinerary to match those inputs. For example, a low-budget foodie might get suggestions for street food stalls and local markets, while a luxe adventurer might see private tours and fine dining. This granularity is a step above generic AI assistants.
- The user interface is refreshingly clean and responsive. The web app loads quickly, the design is minimal with clear navigation, and you can easily adjust preferences to regenerate plans. This means you can quickly iterate until you find an itinerary that fits, without wrestling with a bloated app.
- Dinibo focuses on experiences and activities, not just hotel and flight bookings. It suggests specific things to do, places to eat, and local insights, which adds value for travelers who want to experience a destination culturally, not just tick off tourist spots. This is particularly useful for last-minute planning, where you might already have accommodation sorted.
⚠ Watch out for
- There is no mobile app, which is a significant drawback for a travel tool. Travel planning often happens on the go — you might need to tweak your itinerary on a flight or while waiting at a train station. Without a dedicated app, you’re forced to use the mobile browser, which works but is less convenient. Offline access is also missing, so you can’t pull up your plans without an internet connection.
- Dinibo does not integrate with other travel platforms such as Google Calendar, TripIt, or Airbnb. This means you cannot automatically sync your plans to your calendar or consolidate all your travel details in one place. For travelers who rely on these tools, this is a major inconvenience, forcing manual copying or re-entering of information.
- Group trip planning is not supported. If you’re traveling with friends or family, you cannot create a shared itinerary or invite collaborators. The platform is designed for individual planning, which leaves group coordinators to split channels on WhatsApp or email. This limits its utility for families or friend groups who want to co-plan.
- The itineraries can lack real-world nuance, such as up-to-date opening hours, seasonal closures, or local holidays. The AI might suggest a museum that's closed on Mondays or a festival that's not on during your visit. There's no live data integration, so users must double-check facts, which can be time-consuming.
- The depth of recommendations is sometimes shallow. While it covers popular attractions and classic dining spots, it may miss off-the-beaten-path gems or local secrets. For experienced travelers or those seeking authentic experiences, the suggestions might feel generic and not as rich as those from a human travel planner or niche apps.
🎯 Best for
Individual or couple travelers seeking a quick, free, and personalized itinerary generator without the hassle of manual research.
🚫 Who should skip
Corporate travel managers, large group organizers, or those who need integrated booking and real-time travel alerts should use more comprehensive tools like TripIt or TravelPerk.
📚 Learning curve
Minimal – the interface is straightforward with form-based inputs; most users can generate a personalized itinerary in under five minutes.
🧑⚖️ Verdict
Dinibo is an excellent choice for solo travelers, budget-conscious planners, or anyone needing a quick itinerary without spending money or creating an account. It’s not suitable for group planners or those who rely on calendar syncing and offline access. The bottom line: if you want a free, personal

📋 Assessment
💪 Strengths
- Tern is completely free to use, with no hidden costs, premium tiers, or feature paywalls. This is a major advantage over competitors like TripAdvisor's Plus subscription or Viator's commission-based booking model. Users can generate unlimited personalized itineraries without financial commitment, making it an accessible tool for budget travelers and spontaneous planners.
- The personalization engine is notably robust. You can specify your interests (e.g., 'street art', 'local cuisine', 'hiking'), budget range, travel pace (relaxed, moderate, intense), and even dietary preferences. The resulting itineraries reflect these inputs, offering specific restaurant names, attraction hours, and transportation tips, rather than generic tourist lists.
- The web interface is exceptionally user-friendly. With a clean, minimalist design, it loads quickly and works on any device with a browser. There's no installation required, and the step-by-step questionnaire is straightforward, taking about 2-3 minutes to complete. This ease of use makes it ideal for quick planning sessions or on-the-fly adjustments.
- Tern provides a decent level of customization even after generating an itinerary. Users can manually edit the plan by adding or removing items, adjusting times, and inputting their own notes. This flexibility is useful for incorporating personal must-sees or accommodating real-world constraints like opening days.
- The itineraries often include practical details like estimated walking times between locations, suggesting efficient routes. This thoughtful touch saves users from spending extra time mapping out logistics, a feature that even some paid planning tools omit.
⚠ Watch out for
- There is no mobile app, which limits offline access and native notifications. Once you're on the go, you'll need an internet connection to view your itinerary. This is a significant drawback for international travelers who may not have a reliable data plan or for those who prefer to keep their plans offline.
- Collaboration features are non-existent. You cannot share itineraries with friends or family for real-time editing, nor can you plan jointly with a group. This makes Tern unsuitable for group trips where multiple people need to contribute ideas or vote on options.
- Privacy policies are vague. Tern does not prominently display a GDPR or SOC2 compliance status, and the handling of user data is unclear. Given that users input travel preferences and budget details, this lack of transparency could be a red flag for privacy-conscious individuals.
- The database of destinations and activities is not exhaustive. For niche destinations outside major tourist hubs, Tern's recommendations can be sparse or overly touristy. Users planning off-the-beaten-path trips may find the suggestions lacking local authenticity.
- The AI-generated itineraries sometimes lack self-consistency, such as recommending a restaurant that's closed on the day of the visit or suggesting activities that are geographically distant without accounting for travel time. While Tern includes some logistics, it does not fully optimize the sequence.

🚫 Who should skip

🧑⚖️ Verdict
Tern is a fantastic free tool for solo or budget travelers who want a quick, customized itinerary without complex planning. It's less suited for group planners or those requiring offline access or strict data privacy. If you're comfortable with a web-only solution and can live with occasional AI qui
