Proton sells per-user plans broken into Mail Essentials, Business, and Enterprise tiers. The entry tier is mainly encrypted email and calendar; the Business tier is where Drive, Pass, and VPN come as part of the bundle, and Enterprise is custom-priced. Exact storage and feature quotas differ by region and annual billing, so check the current pricing page or ask sales.
It can securely store and share files, and Proton Docs gives basic word-processing with real-time collaboration, but it is not a full Google Drive/Microsoft workload replacement. You do not get spreadsheet/slide-style apps, rich third-party add-ons, or the same deep sharing/commenting ecosystem.
Proton is Swiss-based, GDPR-friendly, and supports enterprise compliance documentation such as DPAs. It also has security certifications for its services, but you should not assume every plan automatically includes a HIPAA BAA or every SOC control you need — verify with Proton Enterprise sales before relying on it for regulated workloads.
