It includes 5GB of Drive storage, 1GB of email storage (or 15GB total across Mail and Drive depending on signup timing), access to a limited free VPN, and one calendar. However, free accounts have lower sending limits, one mailbox label, and only three folders in Mail.
You get 5GB of free storage in Proton Drive. If you exceed the limit, you cannot upload new files until you delete content or upgrade. Existing files remain accessible. Proton's free plan also has no file versioning, so old versions are not preserved.
